Apartments in central Gdańsk

The closest addresses to the Long Market are on Granary Island — from Jaglana or Chmielna you cross the footbridge over the Motława and reach the heart of the old town in seven or eight minutes. A handful of flats on Ogarna and Świętojańska sit inside the Main Town itself. Every apartment on this list is at most a fifteen-minute walk from the old town.

By car or taxi from Lech Wałęsa Airport the centre is about 25–30 minutes away. By public transport, take the PKM train to Gdańsk Wrzeszcz and change to the SKM commuter train for Gdańsk Główny or Gdańsk Śródmieście — 40 to 50 minutes in total. Both stations are within walking distance of most of our addresses.

Parking in the historic core is paid and spaces are scarce, so it is worth booking an apartment with a garage from the start. Buildings on Granary Island, at Długa Grobla and at Długie Ogrody have underground parking, but places are limited and are reserved together with the apartment.

It depends on the address. In the historic tenements of the Main Town, around Ogarna and Piwna, summer weekends stay lively until late. Granary Island and the east bank of the Motława are noticeably quieter — modern buildings with good windows, separated from the old town by water, yet still within walking distance.

The price depends on the dates, the size of the flat and the length of stay — July, August and event weekends are the most expensive, November to March the cheapest. If you are coming to see Gdańsk, the centre wins easily — monuments, restaurants and museums are on your doorstep, and the beaches in Brzeźno or Jelitkowo are 25–30 minutes away by tram. Staying at the beach makes sense mainly for a longer, holiday-style trip in high summer.

Within a fifteen-minute walk you have the Long Market with the Artus Court and Neptune's Fountain, the Crane and the Maritime Museum on the Motława, St Mary's Basilica with its viewing tower, Mariacka Street, the Great Mill and the Amber Museum. A little further, but still walkable, are the European Solidarity Centre and the former shipyard.
