SWING operates on two levels—literally. Downstairs, there’s a navy blue corner sofa with yellow pillows, a black-and-wood kitchen, and a large table; wooden stairs with a black railing lead upstairs, where two double beds and a work nook with a desk await. One of the beds is tucked into an alcove behind an openwork partition—parents of young children will appreciate that it’s impossible to wander far from it. Black-and-white photographs of animals add to the atmosphere.

Six people are staying here: two on each of the beds upstairs and two on the pull-out sofa downstairs. The kitchenette is equipped with an induction cooktop, a microwave, a dishwasher, a refrigerator, and a coffee maker; there is a washing machine, and the building has an elevator.

Toruńska 20 is located on the southern headland, right on the Nowa Motława River—hence the name of the development: Dwie Motławy. It’s a 13-minute walk to Długi Targ, with its Neptune Fountain, via Chmielna Street, past the Błękitny Baranek granary, which houses the Archaeological Museum; along the way, you’ll find restaurants on Stągiewna Street.

SWING is perfect for two families with children and a group of six friends—the upper level, with sleeping quarters and a workspace, is separate from the living room, so evening conversations won’t wake those who are sleeping. If there are just two or three of you, check out SWEET in the same building—a compact studio with a balcony overlooking the Motława River.
