A quiet part of the city centre at the southern edge of the Main Town. A few minutes' walk to Długi Targ, yet calmer than the tourist core.Read more about the area ↓

Toruńska — what to know

Toruńska street runs along the edge of the Old Suburb (Stare Przedmieście), south of the Main Town, and crosses onto Wyspa Spichrzów (Granary Island) over the bridge across the Nowa Motława. This area is its mainland part, right by the greenery along the Opływ Motławy. It is a few blocks further from the tourist trail than the island — and that is exactly why it is calmer: an ordinary, residential part of the city centre, with shops, tram stops and neighbours coming home from work.

Our apartments on Toruńska have separate bedrooms — for two, for a family, or for a bigger group. Across the bridge, also on Toruńska, is our office — should you need anything, we are just next door.

Distances (walking routes): Długi Targ — about 1.1 kilometres, 14–15 minutes. The Żuraw crane — just under 20 minutes. The restaurants on the Nowa Motława on Wyspa Spichrzów — a few minutes, over the bridge on Toruńska. Forum Gdańsk — a good quarter of an hour. Gdańsk Główny railway station — close to half an hour on foot or a dozen or so minutes by public transport.

Who this area suits. Those who want the Old Town within walking distance but prefer to sleep away from its bustle. Longer stays where everyday amenities matter: a shop, a pharmacy, a tram stop. Families with children who come home early and value quiet evenings.

Who it suits less. Those coming for two nights who want to step out of the apartment straight onto Długi Targ. Those looking for a water view from the window — although the Opływ Motławy and its greenery are only a few steps away.

Parking. Most apartments come with a parking space — if a given apartment has one, you will find that information stated directly in its listing.

Quiet. Traffic from the nearby Podwale Przedmiejskie cannot be heard in the apartments. This is an address for those who want to be close to the centre and yet not hear the noise of the city.

A bit of context. The Old Suburb was never the showcase part of Gdańsk — and that is its strength. Here you see the everyday city: children on their way to school, a queue at the bakery, people at the tram stop. Next door, along the old fortifications, runs a green belt along the Opływ Motławy — a good spot for a morning run or an evening walk with a dog.
