Each bedroom at GRAND has its own color: one features a sea-green wall, the other a cobalt-blue one, with a painting of Gdańsk’s nighttime skyline above the bed. In the living room, there’s a graphite-gray corner sofa with yellow cushions, a black wire lamp above a white table, and a rare sight in Polish apartments: a ceiling fan that makes all the difference in the summer. The kitchen combines white cabinet fronts with a wooden countertop and a black, industrial-style shelving unit.
Six people sleep in the 70-meter space: there’s a double bed in each bedroom and a pull-out sofa in the living room. There are two bathrooms, one with a tub—even when the place is fully occupied, no one has to wait outside the door. The biggest perk, however, begins right outside the door: the living room opens onto a balcony with a table, and both bedrooms lead straight out to the garden. Coffee in the sun in the morning, dinner al fresco in the evening. The kitchenette is equipped with an induction cooktop, oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, and coffee maker; there’s also a washing machine, Smart TV, and an elevator. A parking space in the garage is available at no extra charge—advance reservation required.
Chmielna 71 is located in the central, quiet part of Granary Island — the Błękitny Baranek granary, part of the Archaeological Museum, is a three-minute walk from the door, and Długi Targ Street, with its Neptune Fountain, is a 10-minute walk away via Chmielna and Ogarną Streets. There are restaurants on Stągiewna Street and along the Motława River waterfront along the way.
