Attractions in the Tri-City

Why do people choose Gdańsk? Where can you find the best place to stay?

· 2 min czytania

Gdańsk is one of the most beautiful cities in Poland, with a rich history. The “Old Town” by the water, its proximity to the sea, its architecture, and its ports—combined with modern architecture, elegance, and many other attractions—draw nearly 3 million tourists a year!

What makes Gdańsk special?

Fresh air! – Probably one of the most important advantages of seaside towns. Windy weather, the absence of large industrial plants like those in Silesia, and all of this combined with a beautiful city allow for a healthy and fulfilling experience of the charms of the “capital” of the north of our country.

When is the best time to visit Gdańsk?

Do you like crowds? Or not so much? If it doesn’t bother you, then summer is the perfect time for you—even during a scorching summer, the sea breeze and the proximity to the rivers mean you can feel a cool breeze in Gdańsk among the tenement houses or on Długi Targ, so you won’t be sweltering, as is the case, for example, in Wrocław—one of the hottest cities in Poland, where the scorching heat and concrete are a nuisance for tourists.

Winter and Fall in Gdańsk

Few tourists, empty tables at restaurants (though the best ones are still full), lodging that’s half the price—but at the cost of slightly rainy weather—the charm of a seaside town. Fortunately, the wide selection of saunas and swimming pools makes up for the hardships of the cold months 🙂 Or check out our “guide” to the world of liqueurs and other spirits.

Air, rail, and bus connections to Gdańsk

One of the largest airports in the country, where LOT operates several local flights, including from Warsaw and even from Wrocław with a layover. Another option is a range of train connections, including the Pendolino from Poland’s largest cities and hundreds of other “slower” routes from smaller towns. Add to that an extensive network of services—such as Flixbus and other carriers, as well as frequent BlaBlaCar rides—and Gdańsk is open to everyone.
