Where to eat a good burger in Gdańsk—artisan burgers, not fast food!
Now that we’ve warmed up nicely—as I wrote about in a previous article (WHERE TO “WARM UP” IN GDANSK ON COLD EVENINGS—LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL DRINKS) it’s time for a bite to eat. Let’s prepare our palates for a journey full of aromatic adventures, as I’m going to present you with a guide to places where you can eat a truly delicious artisanal burger in downtown Gdańsk! The spots below are true gems on the city’s culinary map, and the burgers they serve are sure to satisfy the appetite of many a foodie.
Here are three recommendations—these are the burger joints in downtown Gdańsk that I visit most often, and the first one on the list is the absolute best 🙂
Rednek by Stah
My favorite burger joint in Gdańsk—it’s quite unusual because they use pulled pork instead of beef in their burgers. Using pork might seem outrageous, but its juiciness and flavor exceed even the wildest expectations. The set typically comes with fries (sweet potato fries are also available), though the bun is big enough that you can easily fill up on the burger alone. In addition, the restaurant offers quite a selection of craft beers. What’s more, the place also serves a classic Polish street food staple: zapiekanki. Other highlights of this spot include the incredibly friendly service and the atmospheric interior decor.
Carmnik Cafeteria
Here, we’re talking about traditional beef burgers. The meat in the burgers is juicy and perfectly seasoned, and the bun has a crispy, flavorful crust. The homemade fries topped with cheese are just as delicious. You can also enjoy craft beer here.
An intimate spot—the ’80s decor is incredibly charming. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful; they’re happy to tell you about the ingredients used in the burger and will also make you a delicious “tea” from linden blossoms. I recommend the spicy burger—you might be surprised ????.
Billy’s American Restaurant
The latest concept is a combination of a burger joint and a steakhouse—in other words, a “typical” American diner. Stepping inside, you’ll be transported back in time to the 1960s in the United States. Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, and other icons of American culture gaze down at you from the walls. The place is quite crowded due to its proximity to the Motława River, but the delicious steaks made from high-quality beef make the wait worthwhile. It’s ideal if you happen to visit when they’re serving burgers or American bison steaks. In addition, the menu also features chicken wings, cheesecake, pasta, and much more.
Apartments
Some of our apartments are located almost right next to the restaurants mentioned above, and unfortunately, the farthest ones are a 5 (five)-minute walk away :]. This means that even after a hearty and heavy meal, we can quickly reach the apartment with a leisurely stroll.
