Where to “warm up” in Gdańsk on cold evenings—local and international drinks
Once we’ve had our fill of regular beer and cocktails—and even warming mulled wine—it’s time to try something you can’t find anywhere outside of Gdańsk. Quaint little bars with just a few people and knowledgeable staff who really know their craft.
FRANCA – LIQUEUR BAR
We head first toward the intersection of Świętego Ducha and Koziej Streets, where you’ll find a small spot serving handmade liqueurs, its interior decorated with paintings by customers. It’s open Wednesday through Sunday, starting at 4 p.m.
WIŚNIEWSKI
Once we’ve tried all the flavors at the previous spot and are still standing on our own two feet ;), we head closer to the center—specifically to Wiśniewski. Here, we don’t have much of a choice of flavors, since the place specializes only in cherry liqueur served with… cherries. For the ladies, there’s a “cocktail” version mixed with prosecco, as well as a mulled version.
GREAT PODOLE AND FRIENDS
The last spot on our list is more of a store than a bar—or rather, a tasting room for high-quality spirits. The wide range of products is so extensive that it’s hard to choose—you might feel like you’re on Netflix 😉 Fortunately, the knowledgeable staff is there to help, and they can spend hours telling us about the production process behind these products. It’s the most expensive spot on the list, but it’s worth every zloty.
BACK TO THE APARTMENT
All of these places are located right in the heart of Gdańsk, so getting back to our nearby apartments will be a breeze—as long as we take more steps forward than backward 😀 And if you’re still looking for something to eat, check out this article: WHERE TO EAT A GOOD BURGER IN GDANSK – ARTISAN BURGERS – NOT FAST FOOD!
