Many people visit Gda\u0144sk who are unfamiliar with the city and wonder how to get from the airport to the city center. Gda\u0144sk Airport (GDN) is the third-largest airport of its kind in Poland. In 2021, it served over 2 million passengers. The airport is 10 km from downtown Gda\u0144sk. What\u2019s the best way to get to the city center? <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway (PKM)<\/h2>\n

From the airport, we can get to Wrzeszcz by train.<\/strong> The stop is located right next to the passenger terminal\u2014you can walk there directly through the tunnel or exit the building and take the stairs to the platform. You can buy tickets at ticket machines, online, or from the train conductor, and pay for them with either a credit\/debit card or cash. Once the PKM arrives in Wrzeszcz (the trip takes about 25 minutes), you can transfer to the SKM (Szybka Kolej Miejska)<\/strong> and, after 8 minutes, you\u2019ll be at Gda\u0144sk Main Station. Importantly, with a ticket to Gda\u0144sk G\u0142\u00f3wny Station, you walk from Platform 1 to Platform 3 and board the SKM train to Gda\u0144sk G\u0142\u00f3wny Station using the same ticket. <\/p>\n

Trains also depart from the airport for Gdynia G\u0142\u00f3wna, Ko\u015bcierzyna, and Kartuzy. The detailed PKM schedule is available at www.pkm-sa.pl. <\/p>\n

Among the advantages of this solution are the speed of travel, a comfortable ride, plenty of luggage space, and the fact that delays and breakdowns are very rare.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bus from Gda\u0144sk Airport<\/h2>\n

Several bus lines run from the airport toward Gda\u0144sk. Take bus No. 110 to the Wrzeszcz Stacja PKP station; take bus No. 210 to the Main Station (but the trip takes almost 40 minutes), and after 11:00 p.m., you can reach the city center on the N3 night bus<\/strong>, which runs every hour. You can buy bus tickets from vending machines at bus stops, from the vending machine on board the bus (line 210), and through mobile apps (GoPay, jakdojade.pl, moBiLET, mPay, SkyCash, and zbilet<\/strong>). <\/p>\n

Actually, the only advantage of taking the bus is the price\u2014a ticket costs about 5 z\u0142. However, if you choose to take the bus, you have to be prepared for traffic jams, a limited number of seats, a lack of luggage space, and overcrowding during rush hour. <\/p>\n

Taxi\/Uber\/Bolt<\/h2>\n

A taxi ride is a very convenient way to get from the airport. The taxi stand is located right outside the building.<\/strong> The biggest advantage of taxis is that we don\u2019t have to wait for other passengers\u2014we receive individual service, are taken to the address we specify, and taxis are available at any time. However, it is a fairly expensive mode of transportation. <\/p>\n

Uber and Bolt are alternatives to taxis\u2014but it\u2019s a good idea to compare prices before deciding which option to choose.
